BENNINGTON —The Moundridge Wildcats were a 10-3 baseball winner over Bennington on Monday, with the second game postponed due to rain. It won’t be made up as the Wildcats are now 7-8 on the season.

MHS scored in five of the seven innings, capped by a five-run seventh. Kyle Stucky went seven innings and fanned eight, while walking only two but hitting four.

“Kyle Stucky pitched a complete game and other than the first inning did a nice job,” Moundridge coach Lynn Eichelberger said. “He hit too many batters for my liking, but pitched out of a jam in the first inning when Bennington had the bases loaded with no outs. They only scored one run on a sac fly.”

Noah Eichelberger and Trenton Olson had monster games for the Wildcats. Eichelberger was 3 for 3 with four runs scored, while Olson was 2 for 2 with five RBIs. Stucky also had two RBIs. Caleb Frye added two hits.

“Our 1-2-4 hitters of Noah Eichelberger, Trenton Olson and Caleb Frye went a combined 7 for 9 with seven RBIs,” Eichelberger said. “Those three hit the ball well tonight.”
