More road construction is set to begin in McPherson. Director of Public Works Jeff Woodward reminded city commissioners during Monday's meeting of the newest construction on Maple and Elizabeth streets in McPherson.

“I'd like to send out a reminder that the Maple-Elizabeth street construction is scheduled to start today,” said Woodward. "We may be delayed by the rain, we'll have to wait and see. We ask the public to use caution when near the construction area, and we thank everyone for their patience and understanding during this interruption.”

This newest construction project in McPherson includes completely replacing Maple Street stretching north from Elizabeth to the railroad tracks. Portions of Elizabeth and Ash streets will also be closed. Kansas Avenue will remain open.

Construction in these areas is expected to continue into July.
