McPherson College men’s basketball coach Tim Swartzendruber has announced that registration is still being taken for the annual youth summer camp.
The dates for the camp will be June 13-16, with all sessions being held in the McPherson College Sport Center. Sessions will run each day from 9-11 a.m.
The camp is for any boy or girl who will be in grades 2-8 in the fall of 2016. Campers will be divided according to age and ability.
The program will consist of teaching basic basketball fundamentals including: shooting, passing, dribbling, rebounding, footwork and defense along with team and transition drills. Contests will held in the following areas: hot shot, free throw, one-on-one, and three-on-three.
“We strive to make our camp not only a great basketball environment, but also fun,” Swartzendruber said. “I have always enjoyed working with young people and teaching the game of basketball. We have a great camp staff and promise to have tremendous enthusiasm throughout the week.”
McPherson College men’s assistant coach TJ Eskildsen, women’s assistant Cale Cordell and members of the McPherson College men’s and women’s teams will assist Swartzendruber with the camp.
Each camper who registers by the deadline will receive a T-shirt. The deadline to enroll is May 27. Forms are available on the McPherson College men’s basketball website or by contacting coach Swartzendruber at email@example.com or 620-242-0576.
