POOLER, Ga. — Bethany College’s Aspen Bryant waited, waited and waited some more.
After shooting a highly creditable 77 during her first round of the NAIA National Women’s Golf Tournament on Tuesday, all Bryant could do was watch it rain on Wednesday and Thursday.
When she finally got to play again on Friday, she had lost some of her edge, shooting an 82 for a 159 total.
Bryant had entered Friday tied for 22nd place before falling back to 57th at tournament’s end.
Bryant struggled at the outset, playing her first nine holes in 7-over, before shooting a solid 3-over on the back nine.
Bryant did receive an NAIA Champions of Character Award. She is just a sophomore at Bethany.
