Dates and times have been announced for the 21st annual Victory Soccer Camp at Central Christian College.
This year’s camp will once again be in conjunction with the McPherson Recreation Commission. The camp runs from June 6-10 and is for boys and girls ages 6-18, with the 18-year-olds must still being in high school.
The camp will be headlined by the Central men’s and women’s soccer coaching staffs as well as current CCC men’s and women’s players and area high school coaches.
“We want to have a top-quality instructional camp that teaches and models conduct that is above reproach on and off the field,” CCC head men’s soccer coach Aaron Hoxie said. “We want to do this at a very reasonable price. Because of our low camper-to-instructor ratio, we will be able to give high-quality instruction to campers. Our purpose is not to recruit for Central Christian College, but to meet a need for an inexpensive soccer camp to which parents can feel comfortable sending their kids.”
The camp begins at 9 a.m. each day and will conclude at 3 p.m. Campers will receive a wide variety of instruction both indoors and outdoors, and will work on a number of different skills and tactics both small sided and on the full field. The goal, according to Hoxie, is “to create a soccer camp that is faith based with quality instruction and a dedication to teaching players this wonderful game.” With that goal in mind, the Victory coaching staff will work hard to incorporate Christ into every facet of the camp.
