McPherson College women’s soccer coach Doug Quint has added two more players for the 2016 season with the recent signings of Danielle Kakebeen and Maria Garcia, both transfers who should provide immediate experience.
Kakebeen played at San Bernadino Valley College in California, one of the top programs in the state.
She’ll bring a winning mentality to the team as the Wolverines were 31-5-9 in her career. This past season she was named first-team All-Conference as a midfielder.
“Danielle knows what it takes to be successful,” Quint said. “She's a proven collegiate player who will have a huge impact for us this fall. We needed to add a flank player with her caliber and experience. She is a wonderful late pickup for us."
Garcia has played the last two years at Barton County Community College, where she started both seasons. She had prepped at Wichita South and was an All-City League selection as a goalie.
"Maria brings collegiate experience to the most important position on the field,” Quint said. “The depth she will add to that position for us this fall will be vital. I am really pleased things worked out for her to be here."
