GULF SHORES, Ala. — Bethany College’s Miranda Burton is an All-American.
For the third time in her Bethany College track and field career, Burton achieved the NAIA’s highest honor by taking fifth place in the javelin on Thursday at nationals.
Burton threw a career-best 151-5 1/2, which came on her fifth attempt.
She broke her own Bethany College record for a whopping seventh time this season. Recently she was the KCAC champion, breaking the conference record in the process.
“We are so proud of Miranda Burton and the individual that she has become over the last four years,” Bethany coach Aaron Yoder said. “I am excited to see what she will do in the next phase of life.”
Bethany’s 4 x 100 men’s relay team finished in 18th in 43.26, which was a season best. The group consisted of Noah Smucker, Ricky Alexander, Adrian Covington and Malcom Jenkins.
“We will return all legs for next year and will be excited to see what they can do next year,” Yoder said.
