TOPEKA — Bishop Miege did it to McPherson High again.

The two Class 4A powers have met several times this year in key sporting events and it’s invariably gone the Stags’ way.

The latest came today in the Class 4-1A State Soccer semifinals.

After a scoreless tie in regulation, Miege scored with 7:54 left in the first overtime for a 1-0 victory and a spot in the 2 p.m. state championship game Saturday.

The Bullpups play for third place at noon against the loser of Wichita Trinity and DeSoto, which starts at 7 p.m.

Miege defeated MHS in the volleyball state championship match, in the finals of the boys state basketball tournament and its doubles team won the state championship match from the Bullpups.
