McPherson High volleyball coach Christy Doile and the Bullpup program will be prominently featured during the Kansas Volleyball Association All-Star Weekend June 4 at Topeka.

The Bullpups, who were second in Class 4A Division I to Bishop Miege this past fall, will be recognized as the 4A DI-DII Program of the Year.

MHS last received that honor in 2010 when it was the Class 5A Program of the Year.

Doile, who played in the KVA All-Star Match in 1995, also will be honored for having achieved 300 wins in her coaching career as she’ll receive a plaque. She will be serving as a coach for the Red Team in the All-Star Match that begins at 6:30 p.m. at Washburn University.

Among her team members will be the Bullpups’ Magan Alexander, who has signed to play at Fort Hays State. MHS’ Megan Pedersen will be a member of the opposing Blue Team. She’ll be staying in Topeka to continue her career collegiately at Washburn University.

The match will be shown on Cox Cable Channel 22 locally.
