TOPEKA — McPherson High volleyball coach Christy Doile guided the Red team to a 3-2 victory over the Blues, with the Bullpups’ Magan Alexander playing a key role in the victory.

The triumph for the Reds in the Kansas Volleyball Association All-Star Match on Saturday at Washburn’s Lee Arena was decided after four sets as the Reds broke a 1-1 tie with back-to-back victories. The Blues won the fifth-and-final set, but the match had been determined.

Megan Pedersen played for the Blue team and she’ll be staying in town this fall as she’ll be playing for Washburn University.

McPherson High was honored for having the Class 4A Program of the Year and Doile was honored for having achieved 300 coaching victories.

Hesston earned the honor for 3A Program of the Year.
