The deadline has been extended for McPherson County landowners to submit a request for financial assistance to help with expenses related to natural resources on their property.
Local landowners with environmental concerns on their property need to contact the McPherson County Conservation District by Friday, June 24.
Some examples of eligible concerns on properties include waterways, terraces, native grasses, and bringing livestock operations and septic systems up to code.
The McPherson County Conservation District serves to support local conservation of land, water, and the development of wildlife habitat.
Funding for the cost-share program is provided by the Division of Conservation, Kansas Department of Agriculture, through appropriation from the Kansas Water Plan Fund. The funds are use it or lose it from year to year, so landowners signing up this year will help fund the program for next year.
For more information on the program and to find out if your concerns qualify for cost-share assistance, contact the McPherson County District Office at 620-241-1836 or stop by their office at 200 S. Centennial in McPherson.
