A community-wide spraying for mosquitoes is scheduled for tonight in McPherson. Spraying is scheduled to begin at 10:00 and continue until the early morning hours but will be pushed back in the event of rain or excessive moisture in the air.
Residents, especially those with asthma or respiratory sensitivity, should remain indoors and take precautions to reduce exposure. Closing windows and vents and setting air conditioners to recirculate will help reduce indoor exposure. Residents should remove children’s toys and outdoor furniture or wash them before using again.
Spraying is not effective when it’s wet so city crews will wait at least 12 hours after a rain before spraying. The city will continue to assess the need for additional spraying in the future.
Any questions on the mosquito spraying process can directed to the Public Lands and Facilities Director by calling 620-245-2535 or [email protected]
