U-14 Lady Express loses two

McPherson’s U-14 Lady Express fell short in a pair of softball games on Wednesday.

Against the Nemesis, the Express overcame a 4-0 deficit to get the game tied with four runs in the third, but the Nemesis scored the final four runs of the game for an 8-4 victory.

Haley Miller was 2 for 2 with a double to lead McPherson. Teegan Krol took the loss, although she allowed only one earned run.

The Express also lost a 6-3 decision to the CK Fusion, which used a pair of three-run innings to record the win.

Miller finished off her perfect night by going 2 for 2 (including a triple) to pace McPherson and Jayci Mastre was credited with two RBIs. Krol and Rylie Darling had the only other hits, with Krol’s being a triple. Miller, Emily Smith and Katelyn Guffey all took turns on the mound for McPherson.

The Lady Express is now 6-16 on the season.
