LINDSBORG — Nicole Pendleton has signed a softball letter of intent with Bethany College, a coup for this late in the recruiting season.
The 5-3 catcher played at Pioneer High School in Edmond, Okla., and then attended Hutchinson Community College.
At Hutchinson this spring, she had a .356 batting average with 23 RBIs.
She is the daughter of Darin and Lori Pendleton. She had a 4.0 grade point average in high school and a 3.7 in college. She was named to the President's honor roll, Vice President's honor roll, received a Blue Dragon student-athlete award and was a NFCA student scholar- athlete.
"We are extremely excited to have Nicole Pendleton attend Bethany College and join the Swedes softball family,” Bethany coach Laura Moreno said. "Nicole is a tremendous addition to our program. She has had proven success at the collegiate level as she had a very good year at Hutchinson Community College. Nicole earned first-team All-Region honors while at Hutchinson, helping their team to a 38-8 record. We look for Nicole to provide valuable wisdom and experience to our battery and consistency at the plate. Nicole is mentally tough, has a strong work ethic and is versatile. We look forward to working with her during her time as a Swede.”
