HUTCHINSON — It was a stress-free opener today for the McPherson Senior American Legion baseball team in the Hutchinson Wood Bat Tournament.

Post 24 breezed to an 11-0 blanking of the Wichita Arrows. It needed only four innings and coach Tony Schmidt divided the pitching duties among Jacob Loecker, Marcus McDaniel and Jeff Reed. The trio combined to give up just one hit, with Loecker fanning three in his two innings of work.

McDaniel had a big game offensively, going 2 for 2 with three runs scored. Reed drove in three runs, while Caleb Schmidt added two hits and Casen Hoover knocked in two runs. Post 24 showed a good eye with seven walks.
