LINDSBORG — New Bethany College golf coach Dalton Stevens has hit the ground running with the recruitment of four new players — two women and two men.
Newest Swedes include Emily Sutton, London, England; Larrah Bills, Newton; Kyler Donaldson, Idabel, Okla.; and Clay Stogsdill, Wichita.
Sutton has been a part of teams that finished second in the Association of Colleges National Championship and has seen a lot of success individually in England.
"Emily is an experienced player who has the ability to shoot in the 70s,” Stevens said. “She is very talented, I look forward to seeing her grow as a player and all that she accomplishes.”
She will major in Sports and Business Management.
Bills is a transfer from Hutchinson Community College. While at Newton High School, she competed in the state tournament.
"I am excited to work with Larrah to help her contribute immediately for us," Stevens said.
She is an education major.
On the men’s side, Donaldson went to Haworth High School and the Oklahoma native was a part of the 2016 2A State runner-up team.
"Kyler is very knowledgeable on the game is very hard working,” Stevens said. “I look forward to get him in the program and work with him to harness his skills."
Donaldson will major in business management as a Swede.
Stogsdill comes from Wichita Trinity Academy.
"I am excited to have Clay a part of the Bethany golf program,” Stevens said. “His drive and passion for the game will help him succeed in his time here at Bethany.”
"We are very excited to have Emily, Larrah, Kyler and Clay join our program,” Stevens said. "We have worked hard this summer to locate and recruit players that will make a positive impact on the team and represent BC with great pride. We welcome them to the Swede family.”
