MANHATTAN — Kansas State’s 2016-17 basketball season isn’t off to a good start.
Cartier Diarra, a 6-4 freshman guard who was expected to contribute valuable minutes as one of the top newcomers for the Wildcats, suffered a season-ending knee injury recently.
According to a press release on Wednesday, Diarra has already had surgery. He is expected to take a redshirt year.
Kansas State is going overseas next month for a series of exhibition games.
