FARGO, N.D. — McPherson High’s Mya Kretzer is a double All-American.

Competing in the 2016 USA Wrestling Freestyle National Championships in two separate divisions, Kretzer pulled off a rare double by finishing in the Top 8, which is All-America status.

She was seventh in the 115-pound Cadet Division and eighth in the 117-pound Junior Division.

She is a member of the McPherson High wrestling team and is coached by her father, Doug.

Wrestlers came from Missouri, Texas, California, Colorado, Wisconsin, New York and Washington, among others.

To put in perspective the enormity of her feat, this would be like a high school basketball player making a McDonald’s All-American.
