A substantial donation has been made to help repair the Swan Court fountain lights at McPherson’s Lakeside Park that were damaged last May by vandals whose identity still remains unknown.

“On behalf of Oneok Partners, I’d be glad to give you guys a $2000 donation for the Swan Fountain project,” said Doug Baker, addressing Public Lands and Facilities Director Wayne Burns at the city commission’s weekly meeting.

“I read about it in the paper and heard about it on the radio where there was some vandalism and decisions on mosquito spray versus the lights in the fountain. I thought it’d be a good opportunity for us to make a donation and help you out with the project.”

The total cost to repair the fountains is over $4000.
