Craig Corrigan staged an epic comeback on Sunday to capture the championship of the two-day Turkey Creek Club Tournament.
Corrigan entered Sunday’s final round three strokes back of first-day leader Cliff Hawkes and was even further behind, four shots, going into the final nine.
After making a bogey on the difficult par-4 10th, Corrigan played the final eight holes 2-under, making up six shots to eventually win by two.
Corrigan, who shot a first-day 71 from the white tees, shot 39-34 on the day Sunday from the blue tees for a 73 and two-day total of 144.
Hawkes took second, shooting 78 on Sunday after a sterling 68 on Saturday. His undoing proved to be back-to-back double-bogeys on Nos. 16 and 17.
Kurt Kinnamon was third with 70-80-150.
In the other flight, Dave Goerzen ran away from the field with an 84-78-162. Jay Reissig (90-79-169) was second and Scott Davis (85-89-174) was third.
