EMPORIA — McPherson’s Jacob Lackey stunned Kansas State Men’s Amateur runner-up Tyler Larsen of Garden City this afternoon in the second round of the Kansas Junior Match Play Tournament at Emporia Golf Club.

Lackey was 1-up for the exciting match as he knocked off Larsen, who had been the No. 2 seed. Lackey is the No. 10 seed.

Lackey will now play Cole Gritton of Manhattan at 8:40 a.m. Friday. Two players very familiar to Lackey meet in the other semi, Grant Herrenbruck of Salina and Jack Lanham of Hutchinson, who go off in the first group at 8:30.
