The McPherson High assistant football coaches can play a little golf, too.

In the annual MHS football fundraiser Saturday morning at Turkey Creek, four Bullpup assistants combined to take the top prize.

Six-time City golf champion Treg Fawl, Matt Sandbo, Scott Davis and David Goerzen combined to shoot a 49 for a three-stroke victory.

Second was the team of Kenan Warren, Kelly Blomberg, Luke Aichele and Casey Cheek with a 52.

In the other flight, first place with a score of 60 was the team of Greg Smith, Kyle Smith, Mike Simon and Parker Simon. They won a scorecard playoff from Chris Allen, Bob Allen, Ryan Jilka and Rob Jilka.

Specialty prize winners were:

• Closest in 2 on No. 5 — Tim Schmidt

• Longest putt on No. 9 — Jason Shober

• Closest to the pin in 2 on No. 16 — Parker Simon

• Longest drive on No. 18 — Dustin Vaughn

There were 72 players who took part, with funds raised going to the MHS football team.
