WICHITA — If the KCAC football coaches and media are correct, Tabor College will repeat as the conference champion this fall.

Preseason polls were conducted during the annual KCAC Media Day at The Hotel at Old Town and Tabor was a solid favorite in both.

Six of the 10 head coaches voted Tabor No. 1, while three went for runner-up Kansas Wesleyan. The other vote went to Ottawa, which came in No. 3.

Twenty media members were on hand, with 12 of the votes going to Tabor. Second-place Kansas Wesleyan garnered five, Ottawa received two and Sterling was given the other as those latter two teams finished fourth and fifth in the poll.

For the local schools, the outlooks were somewhat bleak. McPherson College, coming off an 0-10 season, was picked last in both polls by a substantial margin. Bethany tied for seventh by the coaches and eighth by the media.
