The McPherson Museum this Saturday is offering free admission from 1:00 to 5:00 for a new exhibit opening featuring works in a variety of media by those who have been either an art teacher in the McPherson schools, an Artist-in-the-Schools, an Artist-in-Residence, or a participant in the Picture Lady program.

Cynthia Mines will also be available from 1:00 to 3:00 for a signing of her book, “For the Sake of Art: The Story of a Kansas Renaissance,” which recently earned the distinction of being named a Kansas Notable Book about McPherson County’s acclaimed art heritage.
Highlights from the McPherson Schools Art Collection is an ongoing exhibit at the McPherson Museum featuring paintings and prints by Birger Sandzen, Oscar Jacobson, Albert Krehbiel, Gustave Bauman, Joseph Pennell and James Abbott McNeill Whistler.
The McPherson Museum is located at 1111 E. Kansas Ave. in McPherson. Normal cost of admission is $5 a person.
