The Ash Street construction project in McPherson is running behind schedule due to recent rains and broken pipes, as Public Works Director Jeff Woodward explained at Monday’s city commission meeting:
“Virtually no progress was made last week due to the rain,” said Woodward. “And we broke one of the new pipes we placed in the street recently, so we took a step backwards.
“We’ll get that pipe replaced for the second time and hopefully get the base rock down this week.”
The Ash Street construction project in McPherson will hopefully be complete in about three weeks, though time will tell depending on the weather. So far the project is running about two weeks behind the original schedule.
