Elyria Christian splits volleyball opener

WICHITA — Elyria Christian School’s volleyball team began the second coaching tenure of Jayme Gardner on Tuesday by splitting in triangular action.

The Eagles lost in straight sets to Central Christian (24-26, 20-25). Brekken Anderson came up with 7 digs and Kourtney Brumley had her serve working with 4 aces.

ECS bounced back by defeating the Wichita Warriors in three sets (25-23, 15-25, 25-15). Anderson had another fine game with 14 digs, while Misha Redenbaugh had 6 kills.

Elyria goes to Wakefield on Tuesday.
