In the first set of its KCAC opener here Wednesday, McPherson College volleyball coach Jessica Cleveland saw her team fall behind Bethel College 9-5.
At that point she called timeout.
The Bulldogs immediately responded by winning 12 of the next 14 points and went on to win the set, 25-20.
That was a harbinger of things to come as the Bulldogs routed the Threshers 25-10 in the second set and then completed the sweep with a 25-19 success. Mac was spurred on by a boisterous crowd as the gym was nearly full, led by a loud student section.
The victory improved the Bulldogs to 3-2 overall as they were coming off a 2-2 performance in the Missouri Valley Invitational.
Due to a computer error, statistics on the match were not available.
The Bulldogs stay at home on Saturday for a triangular. They host Stephens College at 11 a.m., then tangle with University of Science and Arts at 3 p.m.
