LINDSBORG — Bethany College kicks off the second year of the Paul Hubbard era Saturday when the Swedes head to Hastings, Neb., to take on Hastings College.
Kickoff is 4 p.m.
Bethany is coming off a 3-8 record in Hubbard’s first year, but did close strong with two wins in the final three games.
The Swedes are expected to be led on offense by running back Nate Ocran, a preseason All-KCAC selection, and exciting receiver Anthony Jackson. The quarterback position has been up in the air in the preseason and whomever gets the call will rely on All-KCAC preseason lineman Justin Burns for protection.
The Bethany defense will have a lot of quickness, led by Bobby O’Neill.
Hastings is coming off a 5-5 season, 4-5 in the GPAC. Cruz Samaniego had a good year throwing the ball in 2015 with 1,545 yards and 11 scores and two of his top receivers return in Noah Housch and Rashaad Shamburger.
