It was a busy athletic day for Elyria Christian School.

• Junior High soccer — The Eagles’ Josef Hobson had what is a career for some players as he scored five goals in a 6-0 win over Holy Cross. Kaden Aroum had the other in what was the team’s season opener.

• Junior High volleyball — The Eagles came away with a sweep to improve to 2-2 on the season. They defeated Solomon (25-23, 25-10) and Peabody (27-25, 25-15).

The B-team played just one match, defeating Solomon (25-14, 25-13).

• Cross country — Two high school cross country runners competed in the Hesston Swather Special, both in the freshman boys division. Josh Beck was 25th in 23:02, while Cole Price was 34th in 23:55.
