SHAWNEE, Okla. — Central Christian College’s soccer teams came up empty on Tuesday as they made the long trip south to play St. Gregory’s.
In the women’s game, the Tigers surrendered two first-half goals and it was the only scoring of the game as Central dropped to 2-3 on the year.
It was a tough one for the Tigers since they dominated the action with 16 shots to 5 for St. Gregory’s. The two goals for the Cavaliers came 3 minutes apart near the end of the first half.
The Lady Tigers are now 2-3 on the season and host Tabor on Saturday, with game time at 8:00.
The Central men also came up on the wrong side of the score, 3-1. Joshua Taylor scored the only goal, assisted by Gabriel Flores. The Tigers are now 2-4.
“We need to forget about this match and just move on," CCC coach Aaron Hoxie said. "It was always going to be a tough task to match the output from Saturday night, but it wasn't really about the effort tonight. It was about the soccer. We struggled doing the little things."
Central will host York on Saturday, with game time 6 p.m.
