WINFIELD — McPherson College’s volleyball team climbed right back on the horse.

After suffering their first KCAC loss on Wednesday in a grueling five-setter to Oklahoma Wesleyan, the Bulldogs bounced right back on Saturday with a four-set road victory over Southwestern.

The Bulldogs won 25-23, 22-25, 25-21, 25-19 to raise their KCAC record to 3-1 and overall mark to 9-3, that after going 7-25 last year.

Lexi Kite was immense for the Bulldogs with 16 kills. Jessica Sanders also was in double digits with 11 kills.

Jocelyn Cochran had a nice all-around day with 8 kills, 9 digs and 3 blocks. Devrie Sombers had 8 kills and 4 blocks. Kaitlyn Heinis produced 27 assists and Morgan Little chipped in with 17. Steady Emily Warner furnished 22 digs.

Mac steps way up in competition on Monday when perennial KCAC power Tabor comes to the Sport Center. After that, the Bulldogs are on the road for a four-game road trip.
