HOPE — Canton-Galva and Rural Vista swapped volleyball victories in a double dual on Tuesday, but the Eagles won the match that mattered.

The Eagles had no trouble in the first match as they won in straight sets, 25-21, 25-19. But the Heat charged back for a three-set victory in the second match, 25-17, 23-25, 18-25.

“The first match counted toward league, so it was nice to get another league win,” C-G coach Kaitlyn Bressie said. “Getting the second win would have put us at .500, which would have been nice going into a tournament this weekend. Ashley Nightingale and Alex Koehn led us in serving tonight, which was key in our win. Neither of them missed a serve all night. Ashley Nightingale also held down the back row for us, and led us in both digs and serve receive.”
