OTTAWA — McPherson College’s volleyball team saw where the bar has been set in the KCAC.

Mac lost in straight sets on Saturday to KCAC leader Ottawa (13-25, 19-25, 13-25). The Braves are undefeated in KCAC play at 6-0.

It was the third straight loss for Mac, now 3-4 in the KCAC and 9-6 overall. The losses this week were to three of the top teams in the conference.

“Ottawa defeated us in three sets, but we competed well," Mac coach Jessica Cleveland said. "We were smart and aggressive and swung away, but Ottawa kept digging [everything] up."

MC’s Jocelyn Cochran had a nice day (13 digs, 5 kills, 4 blocks), while other standouts were Lexi Kite (9 kills, 6 digs) Emily Warner (11 digs) and Kaitlyn Heinis (12 assists).

Mac plays its fourth straight KCAC match on the road Wednesday when it travels to Sterling.
