Despite losses, MHS spikers still No. 3

Despite four losses at the Newton Invitational on Saturday to ranked teams, the McPherson High volleyball team remained at No. 3 in Class 4A Division I, according to a release today from the Kansas Volleyball Association.

Abilene and Rose Hill (which defeated MHS on Tuesday) are ahead of the Bullpups, who are 15-7 on the year.

Louisburg and Ulysses (which is in MHS’ regional) completed the Top 5.

El Dorado, Andover Central, Kansas City Piper, Wamego and Augusta finish the Top 10.

Smoky Valley remains at No. 10 in Class 4A Division II, which is headed by Topeka Hayden.

Hesston dropped a spot to No. 4 in Class 3A. It trails Cheney, Silver Lake and Kingman.

Inman dropped out of the Top 10 in Class 2A when new classifications came out as former 1A powers Flinthills and Hoxie were immediately ranked in 2A.
