STERLING — McPherson College’s volleyball team is back on track.
After last week’s gauntlet against three of the KCAC’s leaders, the Bulldogs played a team similar to them in the standings and they pulled off a rare dominating three-set road sweep of Sterling (25-14, 25-16, 25-15) on Wednesday.
“This match has been our best game yet,” Mac coach Jessica Cleveland said. “Everyone was on fire and played well. We hit .369 as a team with 8 blocks and 45 digs. We played like a team and made very little errors. It was fun to sit back and enjoy the show as a coach. This was a great recovery for us after a tough last week with Ottawa, Friends and Tabor.”
Mac is 4-4 in the KCAC with three matches left to wrap up the first time through the schedule. Overall it is 10-6, which is three more wins than last year.
• Kill leaders — Jessica Sanders (12), Lexi Kite (7), Lea Seiler (7)
• Assists — Kaitlyn Heinis (22), Morgan Little (15)
• Digs — Emily Warner (10), Jamie Seiss (9), Jocelyn Cochran (9)
The Bulldogs take a break from KCAC to play Friday at Central Christian College before Saint Mary comes to town on Saturday to resume conference play. That begins a stretch of five of six matches at the Sport Center after being on the road for four straight.
