JVs, frosh both edged by Andale

McPherson High and Andale played a couple of close football games here Monday, with the Indians winning both.

The JV game was first. After falling behind 14-0, the Bullpups pulled even before the half.

But Andale put up a third-period score and made it stand up for a 21-14 victory.

Kyler Hoppes threw a 26-yard scoring pass to Talyn Huff for the first score, then Hoppes sprinted 55 yards on a zone read just before the half. He flipped a 2-point conversion pass to Honestee Whittker.

In the ninth-grade game, shortened to 8-minute quarters, Andale was a 14-6 winner.

It was 6-0 Indians at the half. Jakob Feil scored on a 12-yard run in the third quarter for the Bullpups. The conversion failed.
