HESSTON — It was the “H” night on Tuesday in Hesston.

Hesston took down Hoisington (25-9, 25-16) and Halstead (25-10, 25-12) during the Central Kansas League volleyball triangular. Hoisington defeated Halstead in the other match.

The Swathers improved to 7-1 in the CKL and 18-3 overall.

Against Hoisington, Hesston’s Kailey Jo Ince came up with 7 kills, Alaina Dunlavy had 15 assists and Kennedy Teach recorded 6 digs.

Against Halstead, Ince had a whopping 16 kills, Dunlavy hustled to 20 assists and Teach had 8 more digs.

“We had our ups and downs throughout the night and struggled to keep our energy going throughout, but had some nice moments in both matches where we played very well,” Hesston coach Jason Peters said. “Our serving continues to be a strength as we had only four missed serves the entire night to go along with 13 aces. We have also started blocking very well in the past couple of weeks and had a total of 13 downed blocks tonight, along with numerous touches that have helped our defense be more successful.”

The Swathers are home on Thursday to take on St. Xavier and Southeast of Saline. It’s a busy week as there’s also the Council Grove Invitational on Saturday.
