There obviously is a lot of respect for McPherson High’s volleyball program.

Even though the Bullpups were 1-4 over the weekend and have fallen to 16-13 on the year, they dropped only one spot in this week’s Kansas Volleyball Association rankings for Class 4A Division I.

Ahead of the No. 4 Bullpups are Abilene, Rose Hill and Louisburg.

Ulysses, which is in MHS’ sub-state, is No. 5. The rest of the Top 10 includes El Dorado, Wamego, Piper, Andover Central and Paola.

Smoky Valley jumped two spots to No. 8 in Class 4A Division II, which is headed by Topeka Hayden. Hesston remained at No. 5 in Class 3A, with Cheney still at the top.

Inman, which had dropped out of the poll last week, reappeared at No. 10 in Class 2A.
