McPherson’s eighth-grade football team improved to 4-2 as it sped past Hutchinson 30-6 here Thursday.

“Leading the way was a dominant offensive and defensive line that included Dylan Rinker, Drew Hanken, Jonah Scott, Blade Anderson, Hayden Wallace, Aaron Handlin, Wyatt Eisenbarth, Dakota Istas and Adam Elliott,” MMS coach Branden Labertew said. “They really set the tone against a much bigger Hutchinson offensive and defensive line. We rushed for 142 yards and threw for 84 yards in blustery conditions.”

Scoring plays:

• Jayton Alexander TD pass from Max Alexander. Aaron Powell ran for 2.

• Powell rushing TD. Alexander threw to Brycen Labertew for 2.

• Labertew rushing TD. Alexander threw to Eli Pyle for 2.

• Labetew rushing TD. Conversion was no good.

MMS is home Thursday to host Valley Center in the final game of the season at Grant Complex.

• Hutchinson 7th 39, McPherson 0 — The Bullpups are now 2-4 after losing to Hutchinson.
