BUHLER — McPherson High’s Ellea Ediger and Rachel Ivers are halfway home to the doubles championship in the Class 4A Regional Tennis Tournament.

Ediger and Ivers, the No. 1 seed, dropped only one game in two matches on Friday to put their stamp on the tournament as they advanced to today’s semifinals.

MHS’ other doubles team of Heidi Myers and Taylor Bruce must win their first match today to stay alive for a state berth.

It was a good day in singles for the Bullpups as Maisie Edmonson and Rachel Carlson advanced to the semifinals and are playing each other today. Carlson upset No. 3 seed Kaylin Beswick in the quarterfinals.

Smoky Valley’s Kira Haxton also made the singles semifinals. The Vikings’ top doubles team of Katie Bellah and Emily Roets also advanced to the semis.
