Ozark Christian College was the perfect homecoming opponent for Central Christian College’s men’s soccer team here Saturday.
The Tigers thrilled the appreciative homecoming crowd with an offensive explosion, racking up a half-dozen goals in a 6-0 shutout to improve to 5-6-1 on the season.
Six different Tigers scored a goal — Lorenzo Davalos, Tyrone Pitter, David Salinas-Martinez, Rickey Tellez, Gabriel Flores and Oscar Pizano.
Josh Paine, Brian Silva and Antonio Ramirez Villa all took turns in goal as coach Aaron Hoxie was able to find playing time for everyone.
“Great to get a win of this scoreline,” Hoxie said. “More importantly, it was how we played that made me smile. We are getting healthy and things are starting to work out with some of the changes that have come our way. Fun game to watch. Thanks to all of the alumni who came out and supported us today. And thanks to all of the faculty and staff here at CCC for your daily contribution to these kids.”
The Tigers will try to get to .500 on Saturday when they host Lincoln Christian University.
There was no women’s game.
