Central Christian College’s volleyball team lost a pair of matches this weekend as part of the school’s homecoming festivities.

The Tigers were defeated by William Penn University (25-19, 22-25, 22-25, 21-25). Desiree Padilla had a super match with 34 digs and Hannah Crandall hustled to 28 assists. Kasi Kraus and Kacie Platt led in kills with 12 and 11, respectively.

CCC then lost to Haskell in 3 (16-25, 15-25, 15-25).

Padilla’s 15 digs and Crandall’s 15 assists led the way.

“A pair of tough losses," CCC coach Sarah Rhodes said. "We put ourselves in a position to win against William Penn and that's a positive thing. We showed a lot of heart and played as a team. The only thing that would have made it better would be coming away with a win, but I'm proud of the effort. We struggled a little more against Haskell, but the girls continued to fight and that is all I can ask for."

CCC, 6-17 on the season, plays host to Baptist Bible College on Friday.
