It was a combined freshman-sophomore football game on Monday at McPherson Stadium after Rose Hill cancelled out on separate games.

The Rockets scored a touchdown in overtime to defeat the Bullpups, 22-16.

MHS trailed 8-2 at the half and it was 8-8 going into the fourth quarter.

The Hoppes brothers accounted for MHS’ scores. Kyler Hoppes had a 10-yard TD run and Kaleb Hoppes picked off a pass and raced 90 yards. Mason Thrash caught a 2-pointer from Kyler Hoppes.

Next week’s JV game at Hays already has been cancelled due to a lack of numbers for the Indians. There will be a freshman game.
