Chess Tournament in Lindsborg This Saturday

A Scholastic chess tournament is coming up this Saturday, October 15, at the Smoky Valley High School in Lindsborg.

Registration begins at 8:15. Tournament play starts at 9:00 and is expected to go until 4:00.

The cost is $7 for preregistration, and id="mce_marker"0 to pay on-site. However, there is no fee for students from the chess clubs at Smoky Valley, McPherson and Galva schools.

The Smoky Valley Chess Tournament is sponsored by the Anatoly Karpov International School of Chess in Lindsborg. Anatoly Karpov was a seven-time World Chess Champion from Russia who came to America and established his first United States chess school in Lindsborg.
