The walls of the McPherson Public Library meeting room are currently covered by the paintings of Matthew Miller through the end of November.
Miller lives and works in Hays, KS. He graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in painting in 2013. He also holds a BA in art history from KU.
A frequent plein air painter, Miller’s main inspirations are the landscapes, architecture, and inhabitants of Kansas. His current goal as an artist is to represent his everyday relationships with nature through creative equilibrium of color.
Miller’s art can be viewed during the open hours of the library, with Open Gallery times set aside for Fridays from 1 to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 1 to 5 p.m., and Sundays from 2 to 5 p.m. During these times, no groups may reserve the library meeting room and the art is always accessible for viewing.
