It was a time of fun and relaxation for Central Christian College’s soccer teams here Saturday.
• CENTRAL WOMEN 13, LINCOLN CHRISTIAN 0 — The Lady Tigers are now 11-3-1 on the year and 9-0-1 since starting the year 2-3.
This one was a no-contest from the start. Isabel Sierra and Chelsea Nimmo scored hat tricks to lead the way. Nikki Neal scored two goals while notching one apiece were Kaitlyn Bevel, Abbie Koehn, Madison Strickland, Jocelyn Martinez and Elizabeth Hottle.
Goldie Bougher and Morgan Phillips played a half each in goal for CCC.
“It was good to give everyone a run out today and for the ladies to go into their fall break with a positive result,” CCC coach Scott Fogarty said. "We moved the ball well on offense and neutralized their best attacking player. We can also relate to Lincoln Christian's situation ‘cause we were in their shoes two seasons ago. For a team that was under a lot of pressure all day, I can appreciate the effort their players put forth and didn't resort to kick ball."
CCC gets a nice break as it doesn’t play again until Oct. 29 as it hosts Johnson and Wales.
• CCC MEN 8, LINCOLN CHRISTIAN — A wild first half produced a 5-2 lead for the Tigers, who went on for the win to move past the .500 mark at 7-6-1 on Men’s Senior Day.
Gabriel Flores scored a pair of goals to lead the Tigers. Singletons were by Joshua Taylor, Jason Arias, Jayke Maples, Josh Paine, Matthew Massey and Omar Salgado.
“"Decent day out there for the guys,” CCC coach Aaron Hoxie said. “Several quality goals, a couple of opportunistic chance and some overall good play led to today’s result."
The Tiger men play Wednesday at Manhattan Christian College.
