Lots of construction still going on in McPherson. Jeff Woodward, Director of Public Works, gave an update this week on the project out on Centennial, near Hwy 56 on the east side of town.
“On the Centennial Drive widening project, the base has been placed for the box culvert extension on the east side and most of the removals are now completed,” said Woodward. “That job’s moving along pretty well.”
Construction crews are also working hard to ensure that the traffic on the Kansas Ave/Hwy 56 roadway can be switched over to the newly constructed side before winter sets in. Work is currently underway to try to make that possible as soon as this week.
“The last I heard, it was planned for this week,” Woodward said. “I went through there last Friday; they still had quite a bit of work to do before they could switch traffic.”
