LINDSBORG — Smoky Valley wrapped up its volleyball regular season on Tuesday splitting matches against Chapman and Nickerson.
The Vikings took care of Chapman in straight sets, 25-23, 25-15. Kate Deterding and Haley Peterson were all over the net with 15 and 12 kills, respectively. Deterding led a balanced dig attack with 10, while Delaney Johnson notched 27 assists.
Against Nickerson, the Vikings were outlasted in both sets. The Panthers followed up a 25-23 victory with an even more difficult win, 28-26.
Deterding and Peterson had 10 and 9 kills, respectively. Rilee Caron was tops in digs with 10 and Johnson had 23 assists.
The Vikings head to Clay Center on Saturday for sub-state action. Other teams in the field are Concordia and Chapman.
