Central Christian College athletics have been on a roll.
For the fourth straight week, the Tigers earned Association of Independent Institution (AII) honors.
In the case this week, it was two Tigers.
Isabel Sierra won her second such award this season. She is a sophomore forward from Chesapeake, Va., who notched five goals and one assist in two games last week. She scored a pair of goals at Randall University, and then had a hat trick and an assist in Saturday's game at home against Lincoln Christian. For the season, she leads the Tigers with 14 goals and is ranked 17th in the nation in that category.
She also earned the NCCAA National Player of the Week, her second such honor by the NCCAA.
Gabriel Flores, a junior midfielder, was also named the AII Male Athlete of the Week for his efforts. The native of Chino Hills, Calif., had three goals last week. He scored one at Randall University on Tuesday, and then two more in the 8-3 win over Lincoln Christian at home on Saturday. His three goals last week give him a team-high seven on the year and he also has five assists giving him a total of a team-high 19 points.
