WINFIELD — McPherson College’s cross country teams made their final tuneup before the KCAC Championships by competing Saturday in the Mid-States Classic.
Six nationally ranked teams — three for both the men and women — were included in the field.
The Bulldog women finished 16th of 19 teams with 386 points and the men were ninth of 20 teams with 286 points.
Oklahoma City University swept the team titles, with the women accumulating 38 points and the men 43.
Lauren Wankum led the Mac women by finishing in 27th place with a time of 19:26. Laura Gibson was 92nd (21:35.4), followed by Rachel Foreman (118th in 22:57.4), Taylor Dreiling (122nd in 23:08.5) and Ane' Archuleta (123rd in 23:10.1).
Oklahoma City's Aminat Olowora won the race in 16:50.2, nearly a minute faster than anyone else in the field.
Jonathan Dominguez was 20th in 26:30.7 to lead nine McPherson men.
Others were Michael Janzer (55th in 27:42.3), Jerod Fuller (62nd in 27:50.9), Kurt Katzdorn (64th in 27:54.6), Gavin Hightower (89th in 28:35.3), Jesse Freeman (92nd in 28:37.7), Casey Zimmerman (105th in 29:07.4), Gustavo Pelayo Manzo (114th in 29:33.6) and Karl Timmerman (184th in 36:29.7).
Missouri Valley College's Ulysses Orozco (25:20.6) edged Max McNeill of Oklahoma City University (25:23.8) for the individual crown.
The KCAC Championships are Nov. 5 in Leavenworth, hosted by Saint Mary.
